NHS North Lincolnshire and NHS North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) will be launching a new NHS Community Ophthalmology (Eye) service in September 2018, and we will soon be seeking an organisation that can provide it in our area within the available funding.

The CCGs are writing a new service specification (a document which sets out exactly how we want the service to be delivered and what it should include). This will be informed by what our members, patients, their carers, staff and the wider community tells us is important to them when we look at making changes to their healthcare services.

We would like to hear from people who have recently used our current ophthalmology service (or their carers) and to hear their experiences and understand what is important to them when we are designing the new service. 

We will also be visiting local groups who might want to talk about their experiences. so if you are a member of a community or support group and would like us to attend one of your meetings just let us know by calling 0300 3000 563 or emailing nelccg.accord@nhs.net 

Healthcare services are important to everyone and we also welcome the views of people who may not have attended eye clinics or had treatment.

We are also holding three focus groups specifically for eye patients, carers, family members and organisations with an interest in ophthalmology services which are taking place on:

• Wednesday November 1^st from 10am to 12 noon at Meeting Room 1, Centre 4, Wootton Road, Grimsby, DN33 1HE
   
• Tuesday November 14^th between 1pm and 4pm at Heslam Park (Scunthorpe Rugby Club), Ashby Road, Scunthorpe, DN16 2AG
   
• Tuesday November 28th between 9.30am and 11.30am at Freeman Street Market in the Seminar Room, Grimsby, DN32 7DS
