Accessible Information Standard Review – Have Your Say

Accessible Information Standard review

The Accessible Information Standard  sets out requirements for organisations to identify, record, flag, share and meet the information and communication needs of people with a disability, impairment or sensory loss.

All organisations that provide NHS care and / or publicly-funded adult social care must follow the Standard in full from 1st August 2016 onwards.

NHS England is undertaking a review of the Accessible Information Standard to assess its impact and ensure that it is ‘fit for purpose’.

The Information Standard was fully implemented in August 2016 and NHS England is now conducting three surveys to learn from the experiences of: health care professionals and organisations; patients, service users, carers and parents; and support, supplier and representative organisations.

Please take the time to have your say before the deadline of 10th March 2017.

If you have any queries please contact england.nhs.participation@nhs.net. Patients, service users, carers and members of the public can also call 0300 311 22 33.
