On11th Oct 2016 at 6.30pm at the physiotherapy gym at the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital

Grimsby hospital has teamed up with the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) to offer a free information event for local people suffering from the condition.

Do you suffer from rheumatoid or inflammatory arthritis? If so you are invited to attend this event, held at the start of National Arthritis Week which aims to raise awareness of the condition.

Susi Gaikwad, clinical specialist physiotherapist at the hospital, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for people to come and find out more about arthritis, the services offered locally and support available from the NRAS.

“I’d encourage anyone living in the area who is suffering with rheumatoid arthritis, regardless of where they are treated, to come along and find out more. We’re hoping to set up a local rheumatoid arthritis support group, organised by patients with support from NRAS and local health care professionals’’.

At the event there will be the opportunity to put your questions to local health care professionals and there will be talks by two of the rheumatology consultants based at the hospital.

Clare Jacklin, director of external affairs at NRAS, said: “Following this event we are hoping there will be regular support group meetings where patients will be able to offer mutual support and have regular interaction with their local health care professionals.”

Anyone wishing to attend should email groups@nras.org.uk or call 01628 823 524 and ask for Kim or Gill.

You do not need to be a member of the NRAS to attend the event, everyone is welcome to attend.
