Friendship at Home - find out what this service has to offer

Friendship at Home CIO (F@H) is local charity based in N E Lincs.  We started in September 2006 and the Aim of our organisation is to help combat isolation, depression, loneliness in older people in the Borough and surrounding area of N E Lincs, and to improve older people’s quality of life.

We encourage older people to once more be a vital feature of community life as their contribution and presence are valued and encouraged.

F@H offers a one to one befriending service, social activities, information and support.  At our several Friendship Clubs, we offer Chair based exercises, quizzes, regular speakers, day trips, games, bingo and access to a lunch club once a month. There is also a specific club for those and their living with early onset of Dementia.  We also offer a service for help at home, help with shopping, visit to the hairdressers etc.

These clubs give our members somewhere local to meet where they feel safe and valued.  They also give them a purpose in their week, something to look forward to, perhaps get dressed up for, have their hair done etc.  Meet like-minded people, see their friends, and make new friendships.

Volunteers are the backbone of our organisation.   We currently have over 70 volunteers and over 450 members.

Our Clubs meet at several locations around the Borough, on most days of the week.
