Getting Better Together September Event 2019

Do you ever feel like you are not listened to or do not have the opportunity to have your say on local health and social care services?

If so, this event is for you. Come along and join the conversation at the ‘Getting Better Together’ event.

12th September, 10am- 1pm

Humber Royal Hotel, Grimsby- everyone welcome!

Each year, NHS North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLaG) work together to host two public events which provide opportunities for local people to get involved in health and care services. The latest event is coming up and has a brand new look!

This time, the event will feature a marketplace, a meeting room and a workshop space to create more opportunities for people to have their say. The event has something for everyone no matter how you like to participate. So whether you like technology and want to learn about new apps in the marketplace or would prefer to sit back and hear about what is happening in North East Lincolnshire in the meeting room- there will be something for you.

“In North East Lincolnshire, involving people in the big decisions about local health and social care services is really important to us. We’ve listened to what people have told us about previous events and are looking forward to launching a new format that will give people more opportunities to join in,” said Rob Walsh, Chief Executive of the CCG and North East Lincolnshire Council.

“One of the things we will be asking people about at the event is how we can help them play a more active part in developing solutions to local problems. We’re currently designing a joint strategy for North East Lincolnshire called ‘Talking, Listening and Working Together’. This will set out what our residents can expect from us in terms of being involved and asked for their opinions about changes to the things that are important to them, whether it’s health, care or council support. This is your opportunity to shape how you and other members of the community can have your say now and in the future.”

The doors will open at 9.30am and tea, coffee and refreshments will be available courtesy of ‘Elior UK Contract Catering’, the Trust’s catering provider who have kindly offered to sponsor this event.

Chief Executive of Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, Dr Peter Reading said: “These joint events have become important dates in the Trust’s calendar as they give us an opportunity to update our patients and community about our progress and hear from them about how they think we are doing.”

Following the event on 12th September, the CCG will be holding their Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Humber Royal at 1.30pm- everyone is welcome to stay and hear about the CCG’s progress.

For people who are unable to attend during the day, there will be a ‘Bite-sized’ version of the event on September 17th from 5pm at Centre 4, Wootton Road, Grimsby.

Please let us know if you would like to attend by sending an email to nelccg.accord@nhs.net or by ringing the engagement team on 0300 3000 567.
