If you’re finding it harder to do the things you used to do, come and talk to us

Health professionals in North East Lincolnshire are holding a series of events to help people who are finding themselves getting breathless doing everyday activities.
Many people think breathlessness is just part and parcel of getting older or having put on some weight and become less and less active as symptoms get worse. They might only seek medical help when they are really struggling.
However, breathlessness doing normal day to day activities is often a sign of a health condition. With advice and treatment this can be managed so people can carry on doing the things they enjoy or stay independent for much longer.
Pop in to one of the events if you find you are getting breathless doings things like: going upstairs; going for a walk; or doing light gardening or housework
There will be friendly advice, a cup of tea and health checks with qualified medical staff. Events are taking place in three areas in Grimsby but everyone is welcome, wherever they live in North East Lincs.

Health workers realise there are many people living with undiagnosed health conditions that are affecting their breathing and their daily lives. We don’t want people to suffer in silence and urge them to come for a very informal friendly chat and, if needed, a breathing check-up. If it turns out they have a health condition that is making them breathless, there is a lot of support available to help them feel better and manage the symptoms.
The events are being organised by NHS North East Lincolnshire CCG and supported by HOPE Specialist Service, North East Lincolnshire Council Wellbeing Team, GP Practices and Core Care Lincs Ltd.
