NHS North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) will be hosting the latest opportunity for people to get involved and hear about what is happening locally with health and care services.

This year, the Coronavirus pandemic has meant that we’ve all had to do things differently and this year’s Getting Better Together event is no exception as it will be held virtually. The event will give local people the opportunity to hear about how the pandemic has impacted North East Lincolnshire, how local services have responded and the future plans for recovery and containment of the virus.

Mark Webb, Chair of North East Lincolnshire CCG said “Following on from our successful ‘Caring for our Communities’ webinar last month, we have a great programme covering a lot of topics that are very relevant to our community that we are sure people will find interesting. We hope that as many local people as possible can join us for what will be a very informative session.”

Director of Public Health, Stephen Pintus will be talking about how the local system has worked together to supress the virus and about local outbreak and containment plans. Trust Chief Executive, Dr Peter Reading and Medical Director, Dr Kate Wood will be attending to discuss the Trust’s response to the pandemic and getting back to ‘the new normal’. There will be an update on Primary Care Services and developments led by the CCG’s Medical Director, Dr Ekta Elston. CCG Service Lead for Disability and Mental Health, Leigh Holton will be talking about how mental health services have supported people throughout the pandemic and the CCG’s plans to meet the mental health needs in North East Lincolnshire over the next year. Finally, CCG and Council Chief Executive, Rob Walsh and Chair of the Accord Steering Group, Liz Read will be having a discussion about the past 12 months and the progress made to work collaboratively for the benefit of local people during the pandemic period and beyond.

As usual, there will be opportunity for everyone to get involved. We will be using ‘ask the audience’ polls to get your views and holding a question and answer session.
