Occupational Therapy survey

Occupational therapy supports many children and young people in our area to overcome challenges and be able to take part activities that are important to them alongside their families, friends and classmates. In North East Lincolnshire we are committed to improving access to these important services and we’re keen to hear the views of families, children and young people who use or have used the service.

Occupational therapy aims to support children and young people to meet their daily physical, sensory, learning and self-care needs.  Their aim is to help improve a young person’s ability to live as independently as possible so that they can participate in activities they might otherwise miss out on. Occupational Therapists do this by identifying challenges in their everyday lives and helping to ensure the right support and services are in place to help understand, manage, reduce or resolve symptoms where possible.

We are inviting people to tell us about their experiences, what they think works well and what can be improved.

Cllr Ian Lindley, Portfolio Holder for Children, Education and Skills with North East Lincolnshire Council, explained children and young people had been accessing support differently in recent months because of the restrictions in place to keep people safe from Coronavirus and we were also keen to understand what that had been like for local families.

“We are keen to understand your experience from before, during and after the coronavirus pandemic,” said Cllr Lindley.  “Services like these are important in supporting local children and young people to get the most out of these important years of their lives and we would love to hear about your experiences so we can keep improving.”

Sharing your views can be done in a number of ways, completing a survey via a weblink, QR code, post or over the telephone.  The survey has 21 questions and should take about 15 minutes to complete.  Responses are anonymous and the closing date is Wednesday, 21 April 2021.  You can also call us and discuss your experience over the phone or if you are interested in taking part on an ongoing basis, you can become a member of a Service User Focus Group.  Please see below for further details:
