Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Consultation and Engagement

Don't miss this opportunity to have your say

The CCG has been engaging with patients, community members and stakeholders over the last few months to inform service developments for Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services.  These are the key themes we have gathered from this engagement so far which will inform the specification for the service:

  • Focus on early intervention and prevention
  • Priority is building resilience in children and young people
  • Improved transition from child to adult services
  • Reduced waiting times
  • Increased capacity within the CAMH service
  • Services to be delivered in a location which is most suitable to the children and young people and a time which is most convenient
  • Clearer pathways to be produced
  • Improved parental support
  • Improved effective multi-agency working
  • Easier access to effective support
  • CAMHS thresholds are too high
  • Move away from a tiered structure of children and young people’s mental health services
  • Increased knowledge from other professionals
  • Services to be more integrated
  • Lower level support services to be available
  • Increased staff training
  • Children shouldn’t be handed off to other services
  • Introduce self-help materials on the CAMHS website and anonymous positive experiences
