Your Invitation to an Event to Talk About Hospital Services for Women and Children

An event is being held in Grimsby to talk about future hospital maternity and children’s care in the Humber area.

Two workshops are being held, one focusing on hospital maternity services and one focusing on hospital paediatric services and children’s emergency care, at Centre 4 on Monday 7 October.

Anyone with an interest in these services are welcome to come along and find out more and have their say about the ideas currently being explored to provide the best possible hospital care for people living in North and North East Lincolnshire, East Riding and Hull and make best use of the money, clinicians and buildings that are available in the area.

The Grimsby event takes place on Monday 7 October 2019, Centre 4, 17A Wootton Road, Grimsby, DN331HE. You can sign up for one or both of the workshops, please register using the links below.

The NHS and other partners across the Humber region are working together to plan for the long-term future of acute hospital services, working through the Humber Acute Service Review. The review provides an opportunity for clinicians, alongside patients and other stakeholders, to jointly shape ideas about the future of hospital services at Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Hull Royal, Castle Hill and Goole.

Last year work started on six specialties (you can read about this on the Humber Acute Services Review website).

Now we are looking at a broader range of hospital services over the coming months, which include:

  • Care when you need it unexpectedly (urgent and emergency care)
  • Planned care – such as planned surgery and outpatients
  • Care for women and children (maternity and paediatrics)

Workshops are being held around all three areas in different locations on the South and North Banks of the Humber. You can find full details by clicking here.
